Tigers Early Recruiting

Mike Farrell of Rivals took a call this morning discussing LSU recruiting. He said things like "embarrassment of riches" this year in LA. Said there will be some monster battles for elite players in LA this year. I've hardly ever heard more over the top adjectives than when these people are discussing the talent in this senior class. It will be fascinating to watch it unfold. He also said LSU has 9 early top-flight commits.

McCoy / Suh

This will be an interesting test of the NFL's talent evaluating skills. Here you have 2 players at the same position, same league, same competition. One dominated, one didn't. One became a household name, one didn't. One put up 4.5 sacks in their biggest game, one didn't. Yet, the one who scored all the didn'ts is the better player in the NFL's eyes? NFL scouts can talk themselves into absolutely anything.

Follow up on Drew and Baylor

I have been traveling too much, to respond to your Drew comments.

Until recently I had not idea that he was the most hated coach within the Big 12 coaching communiy.

Barnes will not even mention the Baylor name and bemoans Drew for accepting the AAU cronies.

Drew hired John Wall's AAU coach in a supposed attempt to get him away from the others.

Bobby Knight and Billy Clyde were upset with his past recruiting letters.

He sent a picture of himself with these two that said. "Which of these Big 12 coaches has signed a McDonald's All-American?" Kanas's Self had words with Drew this year, when he would not bring his players out of the tunnel during a pregame ceremony.

As a side note the two leading scorers for Baylor are from Louisiana.

I watched Carter's local school of Riverside blow out Evangel tonight, they are loaded with talent.

LSU Baseball Memory from a MSTATE Pitcher

This is an email I received from BWC,

Maybe old news, but alex box is gone.

My first memory as a player , I was sitting in the bull pen and the walkway was right next to the bench we were sitting on. You could reach over the fence and touch someone. Well I was sitting there some LSU fan ( I guess) taps me on the shoulder and just says - F you. I am glad we won the series there. If I remember correctly the game we won was the first game that year where LSU didn't hit a homerun.

Baylor / Scott Drew

I challenge anyone to find a better job being done than what Drew has accomplished at Baylor in almost 7 years. He takes over a job with no tradition whatsoever, and in complete shambles. The program had not won a postseason game since 1950 and had 3 20-win seasons ever in their history. After facing the dark days with tremendous energy and character, he made them respectable in year 4, and now they have 3 20-win seasons in a row. Another solid recruiting class coming in. One of the great jobs in recent memory.

Big East and Big 12.

Even though they are at the bottom of my favorite conference list, this conference is great.

The 8th place team is Georgetown, a team that manhandled 4th ranked Duke and beat no. 11 Butler.

Again, I believe eight teams should make the tourney.

I have an appreciation for the Big 12.

The talent they have recruited in recent years is top notch.

I would put 7 teams in the tourney to include Texas and Okla State.

A punch in Lady's BBall only gets 2 games?

How does the superstar 6'8 frosh girl at Baylor gets 2 games for a punching a girl in the face during a conference game?

Two quick points beyond the obvious fact that she needs "weeks or months" of suspension.

1. She is a freakish talent and has constantly stared down players and showed up people during the year. A thug has really appeared in female sports; she will literally flex's like a weight-lifter during games which is a bit masculine for most female sports.

2. With Baylor's recent past of criminal violence in Basketball, how can this be tolerated?

It definitely sours my opinion of the college entrance information that Baylor is sending to my mailbox.

NFL-Roethlisberger in trouble Again - Romo on Soccer Team.

Big Ben is accused of another sexual assault. Geez, I hope it is not true, we have enough bad guys on TV.

Is it just me that thinks that Big Ben's arrogance been the "bane of his existence."

A completely different view of a NFL Players:

The same page on TMZ has Tony Romo playing in a 6 on 6 city league indoor soccer game.

They called the Cowboys and Dallas Reps said he had played in City Basketball and Soccer leagues since his arrival and they had no concerns.
