ELI - Finally getting his due.

Article in Shreveport Times this morning for our Ole Miss Grads.

Eli has always been a pressure player and in my opinion restricted in his NFL passing numbers by the offense he played in for the Giants.

I always viewed Eli as average at best. I now see him as better than average, but not great. This is a guy who threw over 40 INT combined the last 2 years. If Romo did that he would be lynched in Dallas. I like Eli, but the talk this week is bordering on absurd.

I view Eli and Romo as very close (both in the top 7 of current QBs)but Eli wins big games and Romo has won only 1 (although I think it will come). As for the INTs- in the offseason I saw a report, where they analyzed every INT he threw in 2010. 40-50% were on the receivers. I was shocked by that. Also consider the offense- pretty vanilla compared to the higher powered units. Third- 8 games in the Meadowlands in the crazy wind vs 8 on Dallas under a roof.. Similar to how Ben R. is credited with more in spite of stats. Heck- Eli has thrown almost 5k yards this year- not average. As for the media I think the scrutiny would be about the same (NY vs. DFW press) the difference is NY had Sanchez this year and Eli is in the Superbowl. DFW had the boys at 8-8 with 2 losses directly because of Romo turnovers.

Fair enough comparison to Romo.
He would be crucified in Dallas for he throws that are up for grabs.

I tend to fall in the middle of both of your responses. I do wish that we could see Eli in an offense that is Pass First and judge his decision making skills more often.

Romo is truly a national "hot button" for critcism and winning a title or anything significant would help. But, I do believe people would still rip him. Perception is too hard of a thing to change.

Eli just confirmed he is much more than an average QB 75% completion, 300 yards, and several clutch throws in the Super Bowl. 2 time MVP- cast his bust he will be in Canton
