I would not put him in the HOF on the first ballot, but I do think he is a HOF'er. His OB% is over .400, his slugging is over .520, nearly 500 doubles, over 400 homers, OPS .940, 1 MVP, 1 batting title, 2 silver sluggers. He is in the discussion of top offensive 3rd basemen in history. Hard to compare anyone to Griffey, but you certainly can't say Chipper didn't live up to the draft pick!
