The things that the Payton did are inexcusable and I really believe there is more information that the league could not verify other than via word of mouth.....I.E. Attempted injury Manning and Farve.
But, after the league let Belicheat off for SPYGATE after numerous warning and denials seems absurd.
Does Pat's Owner Craft's relationship with the Commish play apart in the lack of equality.

The lack of equality and the setting of a new precedent is my issue with the suspension. In the history of the NFO a head coach has never been suspended for a game- much less a season. The last known issue is Spygate where the coach is also the GM- he received nothing!
I do not want to discount the infractions and the coverup- a punishment was warranted but this takes a teams HC away for 2 drafts and one season. I argue steroids and the use of other drugs in the 70s, 80s, 90s has a bigger effect on injuries than a pool of cash. Known teams abusing this are viewed as GREAT with Hall of fame coaches and players
Goodell is changing precedent with these suspensions- 3 big reasons
1) Lies and coverup
2) Saints arrogance over this time frame
3) Lawsuits from old players
