I have another thought and I back it with the modern TV electronics.
It is obvious to me that MLB has increased the upper portion of the strike zone.
The boxes to show the zone is showing many less pitches inside the box that are being called balls.
Good for them.

I agree with your assessment. In combination with the lack of amphetimines, and the great new talent on the mound, hitters are in trouble. Even Pujols is barely hitting .300. There is some amazing talent on the mound right now.
