NBA Finals

Well, it was one of the ugliest games in memory, but the NBA did provide a marquee matchup between their 2 top franchises, tied with 6 minutes to go. I heard the overnight rating was a whopping 25.

As I feared, the Celts looked old at the end, and I think the last 2 years have pushed Gasol into possibly the top spot in the league in terms of true big men who play in the paint.

There is no doubt you're right about the nature of play. Riley and Daly, along with league compliance, ruined skilled basketball. I think it's also a reflection of American values. In America, like Canada, the public values toughness over skill when it comes to winning championships. Instead of appreciating skill, the public seems to want to see toughness rule, and we celebrate being able to "gut out" these scrums we call basketball now. It's a shame.
