The Evolution of a Star

Kevin Durant had a touch indoctrination to playoff basketball last year.  He got pushed around, rushed his shots, looked nervous, and flamed out.  This year I was interested to watch him deal with the pressure after having led the USA to the World Championship in the off season.

Today, he played the biggest game of his NBA career, a game 7 with much on the line and his reputation at stake after throwing a 3-14 in game 6.  In the 1st quarter he goes 2-9 and I'm thinking, uh-oh.  But, he never waivered and caught fire going 11-16 in the final 3 quarters and finishing with 39.  This after going for 41 in the closer vs. the Nuggets.

It's easy to forget that Kevin Durant is 22 years old.  At 22 he is a 2-time scoring champ, NCAA player of the year, 1st team all-NBA, and MVP of the World Championships.  As he continues to get mentally tougher and hopefully get a little stronger, it's truly amazing to think of where he can go.
