You might have read that Texas signed Cuban defector Leonys Martin this week and assigned him to AA Frisco. In his first game, he batted leadoff, played center field, went 3-5 with 2 doubles and a stolen base. Martin got a 3-yr $15.5 million contract and with Julio Borbon injured and playing poorly there is already talk that Martin could be in the bigs this year. Martin is 23 yrs old, 6-2, 190.
