Rick Carlisle

How do we give Carlisle enough credit for the job he did this year.

Everyone knew what the weaknesses of the Mavericks were during the last 8 years, and somehow he helped the Mavericks develop players and learn how to adjust on the defensive end.  Many in the media, especially the European sports writers, are excited about the "Mavericks Team Play Concept."

To say. "I concur" maybe an understatement.

It was enjoyable to watch the team with the best passing and ball handling skills beat the athletic team.
The help on defense was so one sided during this series. Miami would rotate one man over to help while the entire Dallas team would adjust.   Great Job Coaching.

The sign of a great coach to me has always been the abilitiy to recognize mismatches, for and against.
How rare is it for a Pro Coach to bench players or change starters during a playoff match up.

Great Job.
J.

I think it's even fair to say that by game 6 the Heat were totally befuddled by the Dallas adjustments.

The Mavs averaged 108 pts in the final 2 games, effectively shredding and then demoralizing the vaunted Heat defense.

Carlisle proved to be good at getting buy-in from the players over the course of the season; and then proved to be a great game and series coach in the playoffs. A great combination.
