Did you see the article about Tressel in SI this past week? About how they've tamed Pryor and limited his mistakes? Why in the world would you recruit people like Pryor if you just want to turn him into Joe Average QB? It's one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. If you want athletes like Pryor, make the most of it. By all accounts he has more talent than Vince Young, but apparently we'll not be allowed to see it while he's at OSU. Ridiculous.

Heisman
I love to watch Colt McCoy, but I do not feel he should not win the trophy over Tebow. The media seems convinced it is over for Tebow, so McCoy is a good choice over the others.
People use stats to put a player above another and usually I agree, but not with QB's.
Tebow is a different animal and what he does for College football is special.
Forget the religious side, on the football side he is never stopped. He is just
a man among boys.
Numbers really do lie in these new passing schemes.
McCoy compares to Mallet without playing the athletes of the SEC.
For the record, Mallet has better numbers. More Yards, TD, less interceptions.
The Houston QB has great numbers, maybe next year.
As for the running backs. Ingram is the only one over 5.5yds a carry.
Do you think that Tebow could run the TX offense and put up huge passing numbers?
I do, and nothing in his past suggest differently.

Arkansas
While watching this LSU Arkansas game, it is ominous for LSU at halftime.
It is even on yards at halftime, but I expect it to change in the 2nd half
.
Petrino is going to rule over Miles (and Nutt) during the next few years.
Mallet is having a rough game and they will still have 100-200 yds more than LSU at games end.
Miles and his insistence on setting a tough mindset by running up the middle
does his defense no favors when preparing for these 21st century offenses.
Petrino will win big if he gets some of the talent out of Tex, La and Ms.
Mullen at MSU may join Petrino finishing ahead of Miles and Nutt, but nobody is
catching Saban.

Big 12 Basketball
Looks to be special at the top.
Kansas and Texas are loaded.
Texas Tech and Okie St are undefeated but have not played anyone.
Baylor lost to Bama.
A&M gave huggins and WV a really tight game
Okla has looked bad, Warren is at 20ppg, but shooting 40% and 22% from 3pg.

SEC Basketball
Looks weak again this year.
Kentucky looks solid, but cant shoot FT's. Calipari teams get better as the year goes on. Lets hope so, Wall is different but a bit of a showboat.
Florida has looked better than expected with upset of Michigan St and Fla St.
Tennessee lost to Purdue, but Purdue is a top 10 quality team.
Mississippi State goes down to Richmond and Rider.
LSU is routed by UCONN and Arizona State.
Ole Miss played good against Villinova but lost by double digits.
Vandy did beat Arizona, but lost to Cinn. Looks to be decent.
Ark lost by 30 to Louisville, then Morgan State and East Tenn.
Aub lost to Missouri St, Central Fl and NC ST.
Overall, the west is really bad and Mississippi State needs that Freshman to be ruled eligible.
It will be the up to the East for more than one team to make the sweet 16.

The police are saying that Wood's wife has started changing her story.
Now, she never came out of the house after she heard the crash, appears she was outside at the time of the incident.
Internet reports that he told his friend that he was distracted after she scratched him at a confrontation over the affair. She alledgely started hitting the suv with a golf club as he was leaving.
(It appears that my wife was right about the right hook.)
How else would you explain how one of the most coordinated people in the world hit
a tree and fire hydrant in his own driveway.
Throw in the fact that was he going in and out of consciousness at the scene.
Then no blood on the steering wheel.
Impact pics to front of SUV show moderate to light damage.
Was he was out behind the wheel?
Fear the scorned wife, especially a European model.

Tiger.
I wonder how Nike's press machine will cover up this Woods problem.
Remember the media shock with all of Jordan's past indiscretions coming out after he retired.
Let's review the current info:
2:25am (where ya going? especially for a soul known to be an early morning workout junkie) Wood's is leaving his house and backs through his driveway over a fire hydrant and hits a tree. (Updated photos show front end hit)
The impact deemed moderate by the police, on a Cadillac that is designed to crumble around the driver's seat, caused Woods to go in and out of consciousness with a bloody lip and mouth. ????
His wife takes a golf club and breaks the back glass to get him out? Did he not just back into a tree? That must be an incorrect report. Front end or back end, how did he hit his head that hard and need to be rescued in a driveway?????
She admits to police that they were arguing prior to the accident.
Woods tells hospital personnel that he and his wife were arguing.
This the same week that it breaks that he is allegedly having an affair.
When I told my better-half about the reported facts, immediately she said the Swedish girl beat him up.
Erkel goes down.

Cowboys and December Swoon
Here comes the critics and the Romo bashing in December.
My prediciton. December 1-4 and a 9-7 finish.
at NYG - L , SD at home- W, At NO- L, at Was L, Phl-L.
Injuries are starting to show up and the truth is: I do not feel that Dallas is that good in their scheme or toughness on offense.
I was happy that Romo finally mentioned the teams that Dallas has played in December the last 3 years. Last year, NYG, BAL, PIT, PHL, Was. Yes, its an excuse, but the truth is they are not as good overall as most of the teams they will play.
It will still crush all Cowboy fans to watch this train wreck a-coming.

Rivalry Games
I will chalk up the the Texas A&M Freshman's domination of the
Texas Defense to being a rivalry game.
It is similar to those Okla number 1 ranked defenses of the past, they are not
what they seem to be.
Truthfully, I was sweating the thought of Texas losing.
With these possibilities looming this weekend.
-
FLA ST beats FLA.
FLA Beat Ala.
Cin gets past two weak teams.
We would have TCU vs Cincinnati in the championship game
with Boise State crying daily.
Of the the 3 teams maybe 8 players will be in the NFL.............. Maybe.
At least we would get a playoff if this happened.
I know everyone likes TCU but do you really think they would stay within 17 of Texas?

The Blind Side
We just got home from watching this new movie Blind Side about Michael Oher. As sports movies go, it's pretty good. But seeing Saban (with a fairly significant speaking role) opens up the wounds again. Fresh on the heels of Miles blowing the Ole Miss game, I have to watch Saban touting LSU and telling a young Oher "come be a part of our next national championship". The oh so smooth Saban even compliments the Mom on her valances in the living room. Something I could imagine him doing. Fulmer also has a significant speaking role. Apparently Oher was down to Ole Miss, LSU, and TN as his final choices. I miss Nick! We would certainly never be a national joke like we were this week on his watch.

Allen-Southlake Wrap-Up
The more I replay the game in my head, read the boxscore, and all the various news outlets, the more it hurts. Can you imagine 9 possessions inside the SL 30 and only 3 scores, including a miracle throw/catch? 539 yards on 81 offensive plays, almost 7 yards per play; 364 rushing yards, 27 first downs. They had 3 TD's, 2 missed field goals, 1 punt, 2 failed 4th down conversions, and 1 clock expiration (halftime).
The one thing I keep going over is, if you have the perfect setting to grab the game, go for 2 points when the opponent cannot get the ball back, wouldn't you have 1 play in mind? Running Matt Brown has always worked for him I suppose, but everyone knew it was coming. Southlake had more balance, 75 plays, 38 passes, 37 runs. Allen bottled up the run game, only 3.5 yds/carry, but they were efficient passing; 26 of 38.
Ultimately Allen needs to be a little better throwing the ball. Westerberg always has the massive O-line to control the game and he falls back on that, I guess justifiably so. But, they need some go-to pass plays when they play the tougher opponents. We'll see what the JV team has in store for us at QB next year. At the end of the day, the Allen program looks to be in it for the long haul.

I am suprised that Tex numbers are so impressive.
Why is Jeter discussed for MVP? He has turned into a Gwynn type and is still average at best on Defense.
Tex plays for runs and is a deserved Gold glove guy.
Mauer is great as a catcher with a huge slg, but Tex contributed to 225 runs to his team.
27 of 28 1st place votes seems extreme.

Randy Galloway is right, Williams needs to be demoted.
I watched the game again last night and
he is definitely slowing down when he turns toward a crowd.
Gator arms seem to be part of his day to day technique.
Leron Landry really hung him out to dry with his "he's scared" comments.
I still think the guy has vision problems, even when he is looking directly
at Romo he seems to have big problems adjusting to the ball. He slows down, jumps early or overruns the ball time after time.
The rookie or even Hurd would be more diverse.

McCluster is fun- Miles is a liar
McCluster has become my favorite player to watch in the last half of the year.
Last 4 games
739 yds 8 yds a carry. All SEC teams, he sat out the non-conference game.
Miles.
The national media is getting a hold on Miles now.
Check out this site.
He signals for spiking the ball.
They show he did not know about the status of time outs, before and after the
4th down play.

Mississippi State
I was reminded by Brian C that Jarvis Varando, a John Wooden nominee,
became the SEC all-time leader in Block Shots. He passed Shaq in Block Shots and Rebounds this week. He has 413, the all time leader played for Northeast La(Wojciech Mydra) and has 535. Within reach? nah.
Pretty impressive for a guy with no press outside of the SEC West.
Two Time Defensive Player of the year that gave up his scholarship this year to add recruits.
6'9 230lbs 210 by the scouts. . Basically a 3 year starter.
Going into this years he is projected as early second draft pick.

Sainthood in the Big Easy.
Sainthood is in order for the ex-QB from Romo's Alma mater. Saint Sean Payton.
Why does he not get the press?
Why does he not get the press?
After he wins 2 of the next 3 SB's maybe things will change and he can coach for a team owner worthy of his brain. I read 7 articles on the Saints nationally today, Coach P was not mentioned in any of them.
3 years ago, Jonathan and I were discussing the possibilities that Payton is the next generation of offensive genius. I am closer to the belief everyday, his game plans are far and beyond what the defenses coaches are prepared for.
He is single handily putting Brees and Colston in the HOF.
Two years ago, Belicheat changed his offense after watching the Saints go to Chicago with some below average talent.
This week we ge to the Patri-cheats throw everything at the Saints. I
will pull harder for the Saints that I ever had.

Dallas Offense Is Pathetic
Is Garrett the reason for the incompetent offense?
For the second year in a row the defenses have adjusted to the
set routes that Dallas runs.
I remember during the 90's and Aikman's hey day
some coaches commented on his ability to put the ball exactly where
the reciever was supposed to be. Since Garrett is a self proclaimed
Turner confidant, does he force this offense down Romo and the below average
wr's of the cowboys? If yes, th lack of speed and physical acumen of the recievers
would let the db's close quicker and make the timing more difficult.
Last year, McCallister for the Raven's commented on how simple the offense is and the lack of creativity. It seems that the adjustment Garrett made this off-season have been figured out. Again it started around week 6 in KC, a coach with a grudge to prove that he was better than Garrett and Phillips. Last year it was, Phoenix.
One of the most interest article I have read lately was the Peyton Manning discussion in SI. Each route is base off of the DB movement or placement.
I have a feeling that Romo, even though he is an imaginative cuss does not have these options.

I do agree with you on going for 2 to win it in the second OT. Both teams seemed to be physically whipped.
A Highschool football game ending after midnight is nuts.
I will not miss it the next time they cross paths.

LSU - Ole Miss
Ridiculous ending to a game that sent the nation media on a search for the short bus that Miles left Michigan with.
Before I comment more, like Alabama two weeks ago, Ole Miss did not deserve to lose this game and outplayed LSU for all but 2 minutes.
The positive:
1. Maybe this is the second nail in the coffin for Miles.
There is no excuse for a team with LSU skill players to be out played each time by teams with equal or less talented players. No disrespect to the "Hottie Toddy" fans, but LSU has many more talented players.
2. Ole Miss looked good for the second week in a row, maybe they will represent well in the bowl game. Even though, Snead still looks like he is regressing.
3. LSU players do not quit, no matter how unprepared they are for games.
The Rant:
1, Miles is an idiot and made matters worse with his post game comments.
During his press conference:
1. Deflected- Miles denied knowing why the ball was spiked. "I will find out"
2. Blamed others again- Said he told the assistants to run the ball with 1 minute to go.
3. Excuse-Blamed the missed time out with 26 seconds on miscommunication with refs.
Result
1. Video shows Miles signaling spike it to Jefferson. The offense had another play called and were ready to go, Trip WR's to right 1 one left.
The coach confused Jefferson and signaled him to spike it.
2. He admitted he let the 3 passes in a row be called, even after QB was nearly sacked on the 1st down
3. The missed TO is just as bad as his choking under pressure with the spike.
Some players supposedly reported that the fg unit was ready and Miles stopped them from going on the field. I could forgive him for this, if his lack of IQ on signaling spike with 1 second left. Maybe the fg team would have been late, who knows, but I do know the spike is the dumbest play since Booty threw a interception to UAB when forgetting the route was from his high school team 5 years earlier.
After listening to Verne Lundquist for 40 years, I am pretty sure that was the first time I heard him literally screaming at a coach for being unprepared.
I can stil hear him screaming "OH MY GOSH, What are they doing! What are they doing, should have run the fg team, Holy Cow, OH MY GOSH!"

LSU at the Grove
The week is finally here for Ole Miss to save an otherwise disappointing season.
My prediction:
Rebels 27-19
Nutt is 6-5 against LSU, with many times half the talent.

La High School Basketball
I spent my night watching a Boys HS tournament.
2 LA teams ranked in the national top 100 have high level athletes playing in this tourney.
Two of the top 50 sophomores, as rated by MaxPreps, play for Riverside out of Reserve, La.
6'2 Guard Louis Dabney and 6'7 Ricardo Gather easily dominated Vanderbilt Catholic in the first round game. Gather looks like a muscled up Tony Gonzalez. Dabney is just a smooth all around player.
Christian Life played against Airline and it was a blow out after the 1st quarter.
3 players on Christian Life have signed to play in college.
Langston Galloway (top 100 player) was the best player in the gym tonight he has signed to play at St. Joseph. (6'3 with an outside shot, plays both ends of the floor and has good quickness.
Two others players, Patrick Robinson 6'5 swingman, Northwestern St signee and 6'7 Grambling signee Kaleb Knight were too tall and talented for Airline.
Robinson looks like he has more potential and can shot from the outside. Mike McConathy might have found himself a keeper, he took over the game in the middle of the 2nd quarter.
Airline's super soph pt guard was outclassed in quickness and strength during the game. A positive for Airline is that for a time during the game they had at least 1 Frosh and 2 sophomores playing.
Bossier High will get the winner of Christian Life and Riverside on Saturday.
Soph guard D. Francis, unheralded but the best defense player in the city with explosive quickness will have his hands full. (I think he is the most important player in Shreveport/Bossier, he alters 10 shots or passes a game. He also scores at will in the open court.) His more publicized Junior pg West will have to up his game with the aggression and selflessness on both ends of the court.
These college size players with talent dominated the Bossier Press in the finals last year.
The championship is probably being played on Friday night with the South La teams.
I am glad HS Ball is back.

Great Guards on You tube
I was on you tube last night looking and Brandon Jennings and decided to
venture into the greats.
Pistol Pete and Chris Jackson were truly different.
Jackson has to be the best frosh I have ever seen play guard.
It is ashamed that the illness may have changed history.
Pete was not only the best passer that ever lived, he also had hops.
Some of his passes and shots were happening during 10-12 foot leaps in the air.
It was truly interesting to watch some of Magic's Johnson famous full court outlets
and then realize it was Pistol that started the underhand full court throw.
Pistol was really ahead of his time.
I also looked at Calvin Murphy, that dude would shoot from anywhere.

Sometimes I am a little testy with the Hall voting in people.
I came across the 70's All Decade team. 2 players are not in the HOF.
Guess who is getting robbed- Pearson and Harris.

Gooden /Strawberry follow up
It truly was special to watch those talents, and I never thought about it in a fashion to make the world better, but you are right. It was also happening as the cable expansion in La exposing us to WGN and WOR.
You are right about our fascination with the athlete that can do something Freakish. Gooden's Curve, Ryan's Heavy Fastball, Strawberry hitting it out of Spar with calls of Blackberry or Sanders coming out of nowhere in Stillwater.
Now, I tend to almost hate some of them during their early career more than you. Examples Marino (best arm ever), Greg Norman and Magic.
Then I have some I despised during the early years Clemons, Canseco, and Woods and later found my insight was with good reason. (Notice the 3 I linked together: 2 with abnormal growth and 1 with an extended career.) They were or are freakish.
Back to your point, I still go to high schools games every week to see the special talent. Once or twice a year I see someone gifted and then once a decade you see one that is freakish enought to play at the top level.
I put a comment in your post on SL/Allen, but for the record you are right -Allen has turned into Southlake East.
Face it, you are a living the life of Duke preppie now.

Thoughts on Gooden, Strawberry, et al.....
Watching Mich St vs Gonzaga last night and I started thinking about how you decide who you will root for. I'm very curious about this. Tom Izzo has long been one of my favorites. Why? Just another yankee coach. Something about him I like and I always pull for them. Very strange.
I will be so nervous Saturday watching Allen/Southlake. I've adopted Allen because I live here. But I hate Southlake. Why? Allen has done everything they can to be another Southlake. The same things that impress me about Allen rub me wrong about Southlake. Arrogance I guess. Those kids over there holding up signs about "your Dads work for our Dads". Class arrogance has always burned me more than just about anything else.
We loved Gooden and Strawberry; 2 thugs, but we loved the physical freakish talent. I think typically I root for talent. I want Josh Hamilton to succeed. Why? Because I just love to see ridiculous talent. Somehow makes me feel good about the world. I think that's why I root for Tiger as well. Just prodigous talent. The world seems right when A-Rod is hitting. When Pedro is dominating. When Lebron puts up a triple double. When Adrian Peterson goes 70 breaking 5 tackles along the way. If they fail the world seems broken.
But one of the earliest favorite players I had was Gail Goodrich. Still one of my all-time favorites was Mark Price. Why them? Did I somehow see myself being able to be like them? Like if they could succeed, we're all close ourselves. Seeing those less talented success stories also makes the world seem a better place.
Why did I love Seaver in my childhood instead of Ryan or Palmer? Seaver seemed to be the ideal athlete. Talented, good looking, poised, confident; he put it all together and seemed to represent the very best of athletics rolled into one package. Similar to Staubach, who was another all-time favorite.
I think at the end of the day I love sports because I can see physical greatness on display and it makes me feel better about the world. Isn't that strange? That's why I don't watch Div 2 football or Monday night games between Cleveland & Baltimore. I don't like the games so much as I like the people. Coaches who do things the right way and also win, players with unnatural abilities on display, players with average talent who maximize it.
Of course I still have to root for the home team. No one suffers like me when LSU is losing, because they're like home to me; like Allen is becoming home to me as well and therefore their winning or losing matters.
Enough self discovery for today.

Eddie George
Did you hear Eddie George doing the show with Bill King today? King forced him to admit that the SEC is the best. George is a pretty nice guy. He talked about the talent they had at OSU during his era. Stringer & Pace at tackle on the same team? They had the Belitnikoff, the Outland, and the Heisman winners on the same damn team! The talent that went through there during a 10-year stretch can measure up with anyone from any era.
Speaking of that, King mentioned the Pitt heyday recently. Remember Hugh Green, Ricky Jackson, Jimbo Covert, Bill Fralic, Mark May, Marino, Dorsett; a whole parade of college hall of famers coming through one program in a short period of time.
It would be fun to come up with a list of all-time teams coming through one program say in a 10-year stretch. You could do Miami from mid-80's to mid-90's, Southern Cal in the 70's, Pitt in their heyday and several others.

PTI
PTI has become the only sports show I want to watch each day.
It truly is funny that I enjoy it so much, they are both liberal zealots.
Wilbon hates the Cowboys, the SEC and any man in power that is not a minority or from Chicago.
Kornheiser is just a mental snob that cracks me up.
I think I like them because they are old school journalist.
(Even if Wilbon does spend a little too much time siding with athletes
that he considers friends.)
My son asked me which one I liked better.
I could not answer it. They are like Peanut Butter and Jelly.

Lessons Learned in Europe?
I cannot believe I researched a rookie after 8 games, but 55 and then another narrow miss at a triple double changed my mind.
He looks polished. I am shocked at the amount of slashing points he gets with the left hand. He is just quicker than most players.
His Defense is even better on the ball than I expected, Pt guards against him are shooting a horrible%. Even Billips was 6-16 an he is a huge pt gd. The exception was another rookie. Flynn shot well, but only had 1 assist.
Shooting % is 47.8 . Assist 5.5. Reb 4.9. Pts 25.5.
3pt %.- 53%(he has got to just be hot) He cannot be this good.
279 players have scored 50 pts or more in NBA history. Most are superstars.
Some Like Jim Jackson, Chris Jackson and John Drew were not. Heck, Jamal Crawford has done it 3 times, but his shooting % are around 40%.
Still that FG and 3pt % is impressive. FT is at 79%.
He can play.
For the record, Wilt scored 50 or more 105 times. Jordan is 2nd with 30.

Wildcat in the NFL.
Minimum impact.
Data from Espn. These are the top use teams.
Coaches use the excuse as taking the ball out of the QB's hands.
Miami 80-420yd-5.3
Browns 32-123yd-3.8
Eagles 24-108-4.5
Jets 12-61yd-5.1
Dallas 7-36yd-5.1
Denver 7-27yds-3.9
I did some looking and think that the Dolphins have run 575 plays with 13.9% out of the Wildcat.

Bowl Games - TCU- ND
The bowls are shaping up to be crap. Ohio St/Oregon? A Rose Bowl where both teams have 2 losses? Ga Tech or Clemson vs Cincinnati in the Orange? Nothing more needs to be said about that. I hope they don’t make TCU face the Tide in the Sugar. Although I’m not convinced that FL takes them out again just yet. And who else fills up the BCS slots? Boise I guess. And then Iowa? Pitt? OK St.? Pathetic!
Two things I took away from the TCU/Utah game: the frog offense is better than I thought, and overall they really look small. I think Patterson decided the way to conquer the Mountain West was to overwhelm the rest of them athletically, which it appears he can do with these 3-star Texas kids. But they have no size as far as I can tell. Dalton is not bad and he’s got one more year.
I think it’s time to pull the plug on Todd Dodge. Horrible job by him. SMU feels they are ahead of schedule in Jones’ 2nd year. Everyone seems settled on Brian Kelly to replace Weiss but I wonder if it’s too obvious? They’re going to eventually get the right person. As Bill King pointed out, it took OK, TX, USC, AL and others a long time to find the right person, but they started winning again when they found the right coach, and ND probably will too.

Jonathan C is upset with the 250k fine for the bird show in Buffalo.
After considering he is a billionaire, I agree.
How many parents had to explain the controversy to kids.
This is as bad as giving the Patricheats 500k for cheating for 5 years.

Nascar and Racing in General
I will leave the Oval comments to the experts. I did read the SI article.
Johnson and Gordon seem to be as good as it gets?
At least Nascar is better than cycling and the Tour de France, where they admit to letting someone else win. It drives me crazy that you wait your turn to win.
No wonder the French have not won a war since they lost their Napoleonic complex, they have no heart.
I will not even comment on the American Cycling Hero and his drug enduced improvement after his illness. Lose a body part an lower your times. jc

C Johnson
No, I don't think we discussed Johnson. I thought Houston, oops I mean the Titans, screwed up when they took him. I guess I was wrong. Maybe Adams was flipping me off for missing his value two years ago.
I have never seen him do anything but run away from people. He scores more untouched TD's than anyone in the league. It seems that he is healty version of Felix Jones. It really makes the Bush fiasco that much harder to explain. How can he be so bad as a runner when he appears to be as elusive as Johnson and Jones. jc

Wie, Will the era begin.
I can see why someone would say that about Wie's swing. Being female definitely makes her more flexible.
My true question: Is this the beginning of dominance. She is a player capable of making Anika look good not great, length truly does matter on the womens tour.
ort game, she putts average at best. Although Anika could never putt that great, but her nerves rarely caused her to miss a green.
Wie's power will make her shots 10 yards deep in the rough instead of the 1 foot that Anika had and create more down hill putts due to the flyer lie.
I did find it ironic that Pressel was out on the green pouring beer on her. I remember the cutting comments from Pressel when Wie could not close and was getting too much press.

Misc
Have we ever talked about Chris Johnson? That’s a truly incredible football player who should get more pub. Is he not the most dangerous player in the league?
Mike Greenberg quoted some golf guru this morning from some golf magazine he said he reads all the time. The best swing in all of golf today belongs to…………Michelle Wie?
It’s too bad I don’t follow racing because it’s so cool to watch dominance like Jimmy Johnson is throwing down.

TCU pro prospects
I was listening to Rivals Radio today and they were quoting a scout
as saying that TCU only has 5 players that could get drafted. (3 on D)
I am unsure if this includes the underclassman, but is a far cry from
the 28 expected pro prospects at he LSU-Bama game. (No underclassmen)

Ironic- Running up the Score. USC crying
Stanford went for two while leading 48-21 in the forth with 6 minutes left. (Going for half a hundred?)
After the game...The story goes....
Pete Carroll ask Jim H "Are you alright, Whats your deal?" Harbaugh responded "I'm Great- what is your deal?"
After throwing deep on teams for years when leading by 40, Carroll has a problem with Stanford. Remember what he did to Arkansas and Houston Nutt.
Or the dancing they did against another hyprocit Joe Pa in the Rose Bowl.
What goes around, comes around..
I suddenly like Harbaugh.

Cowboys
I expected a tough game and possible loss. I did not expect them to lay down.
Columbo is as big a loss as anyone outside of Romo and Ware.
They should be 8-3 after the next two games and then have the wheels fall off as the injuries mount. 9-7 is looming unless Garrett finds a way to get Romo some time.
Roy Williams is just disappointing.
Maybe next year they will have a coach that can actually speak in public with sounding ridiculous.

LSU
I went to the LSU-La Tech Game.
I had great seats, high enough up to see the entire field and watch an inept offense.
LSU was so bad that Tech looked competent.
How can they be that bad.
1. The O line is worse than I suspected.
The only time Lee had time LSU was only sending 3 people out on patterns and one was a dump off reciever.
2. Lee is really weak in the knees and fearful to throw into coverage.
3. Dooley outcoached Miles. Tech had them confused on both sides of the ball.
4. Crowton and Miles have really messed up the team chemistry.
This does not look anything like a Crowon offense.
Maybe the line is so weak he cannot do things that he wants, but I don't buy that theory. Crowton ran spreads with less talent for years and had better results.
My opinion is that LSU is trying to run a power game and Crowton is a finesse coach.
5. K Williams is as good as he looks on TV. Miles has wasted 4 years of talent.
Team Stat Comparison

High School Playoffs
Southlake and Allen this weekend, i would like to see that game.
Can Allen really get over the hump against the Dragons. SL looks to be getting better.
How did Trinity score 88?
I would hate to play Desoto.
Lousiana-NWLA will be depending on Evangel, again. They should be able to play with John Curtis this year.
I am still not sold on West Monroe, the teams that play old school
football by running 80's offenses are getting in trouble with well balanced offenses.
Airline was routed by a mid level Jesuit team from the catholic lead in New Orleans.

Top 10 Rankings.
1. Florida- History says Meyers plays it close to the vest on offense in the SEC games. They will score enough to beat everyone.
2. Alabama- What would LSU do with Saban's strength and conditioning? It is good to have the Tide back in power.
3. Texas- I worry that the defense will fold when the powerful teams in SEC
wear them down in the 2nd half and lose by two tds. They will have to prove it before I believe it.
4. TCU- Good Story, but number 4? 7-5 in the SEC, maybe. They make purple uniforms look good.
5. Cincinnati- I would like to seem them play TCU.
6. Boise State- They played TCU last year and were manhandled. How weak is Oregon? and USC?
7. Ga Tech- A weak LSU teams wins 38-3 in Altanta.
8. Pittsburg- I give them a break from critism since they put Weiss on the hot seat.
9. Ohio State- How did this team get ahead of a team that lost to Fl and AL.
10. LSU- Crowton and Miles need to part ways. Ole Miss seems to have found an offense so it could be a long day for Miles, aka. Wade Phillips Jr.
How irritating is it to listen to talk show host from the east and west coast complain about the lower ranked teams in the SEC being inferior to the middle of the Big 10, PAC 10 and Big 12.
Do they think that the athletes at Mississippi State are in the NFL for their looks?
