Did you hear Eddie George doing the show with Bill King today? King forced him to admit that the SEC is the best. George is a pretty nice guy. He talked about the talent they had at OSU during his era. Stringer & Pace at tackle on the same team? They had the Belitnikoff, the Outland, and the Heisman winners on the same damn team! The talent that went through there during a 10-year stretch can measure up with anyone from any era.
Speaking of that, King mentioned the Pitt heyday recently. Remember Hugh Green, Ricky Jackson, Jimbo Covert, Bill Fralic, Mark May, Marino, Dorsett; a whole parade of college hall of famers coming through one program in a short period of time.
It would be fun to come up with a list of all-time teams coming through one program say in a 10-year stretch. You could do Miami from mid-80's to mid-90's, Southern Cal in the 70's, Pitt in their heyday and several others.
