How Good is Phillip Rivers?

Phillip Rivers is easy to overlook.  Brady and Manning dominate QB discussions and Drew Brees was the latest party crasher.  But here is Rivers throwing to a laughable collection of back-up receivers, with no running game, and having a monster year.  Rivers and Turner refuse to back down, continuing to throw down the field in a league of dinkers.  Rivers' yards per attempt is at a career-high and stellar 8.9 while he remains at over 65% completion %.  At the age of 28 he might be the player with the most value in the league.

Winning puts you in the discussion. Brees was not mentioned as a top 3 QB until last year. Only a handful of QBs are considered Great w/o the ring. P. Manning was before he got one and Dan marino was. 2nd part is the West Coast and playing in a soft conference.
