Don't know about Sheveport/Bossier, but a rapidly burgeoning sport over here is girls volleyball. Shelby has several friends who play select volleyball and I've watched a few games. Typically at the high school level, Texas is considered the national leader in quality of teams/play. I only mention it because I find it quite enjoyable to watch in person. I'm impressed with the skill, the pace, and the overall athleticism and action of the games. It is by far the funnest girls sport to watch (except for competitive cheer of course).

I have not seen girls volleyball in person since highschool.
It has not reach the level of competition that you have in DFW.
I remember a few years back when one of the districts over there had 3 teams ranked nationally.
Crazy Stuff in DFW.
