Rumblings in the Land of Thunder

I keep hearing people bringing up this possible rift between Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.  They have been seen yelling in the huddle and then last night Durant goes 9 minutes late without a shot attempt.  Westbrook is trying to immitate Derrick Rose by throwing up 30 shots, but it is selfishness or as J says a scheme problem with the coaching?  I tend to look at the coaching and also the fact that OKC has no other scoring options.  Durant can be pushed around with his frame and I've long thought their weakness is a lack of a viable scoring option outside of those 2.  Westbrook is very streaky and if Durant can be bottled up, they're in trouble.  James Harden with the #3 pick a couple of years ago is turning out to be an issue.  If they could have landed a big-time player with their last high draft pick before turning the corner, they could easily be championship material.  As they are right now, I'm skeptical.

Well said Birthday Boy.

I actually like Harden more than I thought I would. He seems to play within the system and is tougher than I realized.

I find your comparison to Rose interesting and also wonder if Westbrooks personality is stronger and influence the me first players. Durant can try to be demonstrative but I do not think its in his personality.
