I am suprised that Tex numbers are so impressive.
Why is Jeter discussed for MVP? He has turned into a Gwynn type and is still average at best on Defense.
Tex plays for runs and is a deserved Gold glove guy.

Mauer is great as a catcher with a huge slg, but Tex contributed to 225 runs to his team.
