High School Playoffs

Southlake and Allen this weekend, i would like to see that game.
Can Allen really get over the hump against the Dragons. SL looks to be getting better.
How did Trinity score 88?
I would hate to play Desoto.

Lousiana-NWLA will be depending on Evangel, again. They should be able to play with John Curtis this year.
I am still not sold on West Monroe, the teams that play old school
football by running 80's offenses are getting in trouble with well balanced offenses.
Airline was routed by a mid level Jesuit team from the catholic lead in New Orleans.

The Trinity boxscore was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. They rushed for over 540 yards and had 200 passing on just 9 attempts.

I’m pretty sure we will go to Cowboy Stadium to see Allen/Southlake. I definitely worry about the psychological hold Southlake has over Allen, but at least these kids have not played them before. I think Allen has gotten their program to Southlake’s level so I hope it just comes down to who is actually better. I’ve looked at all the stats I can get my hands on and statistically Southlake appears to be just a little better. They’ve given up fewer rushing yards and have a more balanced offense. Allen is all Matt Brown. He may be a little better passer than I’ve given him credit for. We went the other night; they had a 3rd and 20 at their own 30 in the 1st quarter and he goes deep for 70 yards. Broke Nimitz’ spirit right there.

This game may tell me something about Westerberg as a coach. He is now 67-11 (48-5 over the last 4 yrs) since taking over and of course he got them over the hurdle last year. They haven’t lost a district game since 2005. I’m curious how he will approach this game and whether he has anything special to show them. If they get down early will it snowball like it has before? FYI they had 170 kids on the freshmen team(s) at the end of this year. The junior high coaches are on the Allen High staff.
