Bobby Boyd - Unknown TX Football Legend

I like running across stories like this.  Billed as "Garland's answer to Doak Walker", Bobby Boyd led Garland to the state title game in 1955 and made all-american.  Recruited to Oklahoma, he quarterbacked for Bud Wilkinson and was all-Big 8.  Drafted in the 10th round by the Colts, he switched to corner and was all-pro 3 times, made the 60's all-decade team, and played in the Namath super bowl.  His real talent was interceptions, turns out he is the all-time NFL leader in interceptions per season at 6.3.  He had 2 seasons with 9 picks and only twice had less than 6 in 9 full seasons.  Still lives in Garland.  How can an all-decade corner who holds the NFL record for int/season and totalled 57 not be a HOF'er?

I am sorry to say I have never heard of him.

It is truly amazing how many players are overlooked by the media.
