Newton as a Pro

I see where Cam declared for the draft today.  This will be the first of many posts I'm sure as we discuss his merits as a pro QB.  McShay has him as 3rd QB and 27th overall.  The debate will continue as to whether a pro franchise can make that kind of investment in a QB who will try to include his running skills in the gameplan and risk injury.  Do those skills help or hinder the development of his passing game?  As we've said, a pro QB has to have such a mind-boggling set of physical and mental skills to succeed, and the running talent can obscure those mental deficiencies.  I'll watch with interest as Newton goes through the evaluation process and teams try to figure out whether he's worth the risk.

Newton's draft status is confusing to me. I expect his measurables will go thru the roof.

I would expect him to be a top 10 pick and the only reason he drops is that people cannot get over his past lack of character.
