I watched Darvish for the 3rd time tonight, and I admit confusion. In 4 starts he has pitched from the stretch full time twice, and from the windup twice, and those 2 games were using different windups. How can a guy with so much experience not even be able to decide about his basic motion? Tonight he had the best command so far in the season, but it's only the 1st of 4 starts where I felt he had decent command overall. He does have a very live arm and his pitches have tremendous movement. I would bet he will drive Maddux crazy with the cross of potential, inconsistency, and pitch count. I'm excited to watch him each time out because of the talent, but I certainly don't trust him yet.
