When the Hogs hired Smith, I admit disappointment.
A 63 year old coach that hasn't been a known name and was a recent hire at Weber State was weird to me.

His overall record is being shown as nearly 61% as a positive, but his record at Michigan State was 22-26 in his last stint and he finished 9th and 10th in not always powerful Big 10.

I think they took the easy way out and are going for a one-year stable the rocking boat.  Mistake, West Va tried this approach and they are still fighting the problems it created.
