With the explosion in Boston this week the blame is flying all over the place.
I am really interested in this Josh Beckett drama again, he had a similar past in Florida.
Reports are that he and his fellow pitchers were drinking beer, eating fast-food and playing video games in the clubhouse while their teammates were playing games.
Then a story breaks that Jack McKeon, Beckett's Marlin Manager, had to keep an eye on him and his teammates during his time in Miami. The Marlins went on to win the series that year and McKeon says Beckett and his group (Brad Penny) would sneak out and drink during the games, so he had to issue bathroom passes to his players during the game.
Shockingly some of these stories were during starts.
We have often wondered why Beckett never turned into what we expected.
I guess we know now!

In Hamilton's book he talked about the debate on whether to draft him or Beckett and the word was that Hamilton had the "character" while Beckett was questionable. We saw it right away during Beckett's first press conference. He's a boy run amok who never grew up and has all the money he ever wanted. Dangerous. But Francona has to answer for this behavior as well.
