Cowboys Popularity.

Everyone is talking about the Nielson ratings on the Cowboys. The national media has admitted to down playing the surprising gap between Dallas and the other teams.
Dallas was 23% more popular than the 2nd place team the Steelers.
The truly amazing number is on the national scale the gap was much wider.
Dallas had 117million viewers last year.

4 categories were used:
1. National viewers. 1. by a large amount. Steelers 2.
2. Internet viewing.1. by a large amount. Steelers 2.
3. Internet buzz. 2.... Giants 1.
4. Local TV- 8th....Pitts and Saints 1 and 2.

The Steelers swapped place with the Giants.

The scary truth.
Dallas truly is more popular than half of the NFL combined.
If you want to remove the local part of the equation with the 7 million in population in DFW. Dallas goes much higher and is likely more popular than the top teams combined.

Hate them if you want, but they are by far the most popular sports team in America.

Be prepared to keep watching them on National TV even with a 8-8 record.

The Wallstreet Journal discussed how this happened.

Notice that this rating did not even discuss the sports memrobilia sales which puts the Cowboys on a level that is incomprehensible. They have been in the top 3, and led nearly every year since the 70's. No other team stays in the top 10.
