We were spoiled to grow up in the 70's which spawned Secretariat, Seattle Slew, and Affirmed. I so want to get into horse racing again, but why can't they produce another great horse? I got that old feeling last year watching Rachel Alexandria win the Preakness, and I still have the heart gash from watching Smarty Jones' jockey run him out and blow the Belmont. After watching Secretariat clips for the upcoming movie, I pulled up all the Affirmed/Alydar races and man was it great. Watch that stretch run in the Belmont, and tell me who wouldn't love it?
