Allen kicks off district with a bang this week vs. Plano at home. As we settle into the district race note that the Eagles have won 31 straight district games going back to the middle of the 05/06 season (vs. Plano). An amazing accomplishment given the competition they face in Collin and/or Denton county each year. Coach Westerberg is 70-12 since taking over for Joe Martin in 2004, including 38-2 in district play. Overall Allen has made the playoffs for 11 straight seasons. This has led to 3 runs to the state semi-finals since '03, with the championship in '08. The major blemish is 5 consecutive losses to Southlake since '03, all 5 of which ended Allen's season. This will be the first year since 2006 that Allen faces district play without QB Matt Brown. Friday we'll find out if new QB Alec Morris is up to the task.

Allen 30-13. They held Plano to 12 first downs and 268 yards while gaining 468. Averaged 7 yds/carry on the ground and won the 2nd half 23-0.
