John Danks

Last night's stat line for Danks: 8-2-1-1-2-9. He sits 2-0 1.29 for the year after 3 starts, having allowed 1 earned run in each. Total thus far: 21-12-3-3-6-21. The more he pitches the more I have this sinking feeling in my stomach. You know the story; Rangers draft him 9th overall out of Round Rock, TX and he becomes the face of the franchise's future. Inexplicably they give up on him before he even makes his major league debut. He takes his lumps as a rookie (very similar rookie stats to Glavine). Since then in the following 2+ seasons he carries a 3.55 era. He will pitch this year as a 25 year old. A young lefty with a career 2.3/1 strike-out to walk ratio who averages 7.1 K per 9. It just makes me want to be sick.

I love the entire diatribe you have on Danks. I wish you would listed more of your stats on how bad this was. It is amazing.

Giving up on people was one of the first things Nolan said he would stop.

We will see.
