Phil - Knight in Shining Armour?

As everyone knows, I am a huge fan of the way Phil plays golf.
His respect for people in public and the level of decorum he displays on the course and toward fans is pleasing to me. He has accepted the cultural standards that his parents and American and Japanese History find proper in a public forum.

His eclectic view of the world is a breath of fresh air in sports. The media's attacks on Phil's opinions on multiple subjects is looked upon as a weakness. Why? Since when did open discussions of subjects with background knowledge become a negative. Hatred or jealousy toward someone that can discuss a subject in more detail than you and make a compelling discussion that challenges the status quo is a asinine.

However, I cringe every time I hear a media pundit bring up the family man and good guy comments. It maybe all true, but I do not like the building up of sports stars on things that are not objective. He is obviously a huge sports fan and reported a big gambler.

A recipe for a TMZ dirt dig.
