At age 32, Dirk is off to the best start of his career. Averaging 25.2 and shooting a smoking 56% from the field after 24 games. His 3-pt % is 43%. In his career he has had 10 games when he's shot at least 10 times and made at least 80% during a game. Four of those 10 are this year in just 24 games.
I have to say I'm guilty of nitpicking on Dirk for his shortcomings, but I'm trying to remind myself that I'm watching a sure HOF'er and to appreciate what he's bringing. Dirk will give you 25 a night, take the big shots, play hurt, and take responsibility for everything he did after the game. I've noticed that even most of the rather bigoted former players who populate the airwaves are beginning to appreciate Dirk.
