Newton/Tebow

How quickly people forget!  I've heard 2 radio hosts say that Newton is a better player than Tebow.  He is an incredible athlete but let's not forget that Tebow won the Heisman as a sophomore and won 2 national championships.  Looking at the numbers from Newton this year and Tebow as a sophomore:

Newton: 2589 passing yards, 1409 rushing, total 3998; 28 TD's throwing, 20 rushing, total 48
Tebow: 3286 passing yards, 895 rushing, total 4181; 32 TD's throwing, 23 rushing, total 55

And of course Tebow brought character and class to his program while Newton may leave shame and embarrassment.

One more thing; because I don't want Vince Young to fade into memory too quickly; he also led an undefeated team to a national championship and had the following numbers (comparable to Tebow and Newton):

3036 passing yards, 1050 rushing, total 4086; 26 TD's passing, 12 rushing, total 38.
