This has been a strange recruiting story that I wanted to post. I've followed it for a while. The DeSoto QB, Ryan Polite, is the 9th player in TX history to throw for 10,000 yards. This year he passed for 3,700 yards and 35 touchdowns and DeSoto is in the regional finals. He is 6'1, 205. Yet, he did not have a Div I offer until this week, and it is at UT-San Antonio. The story has run a few times but I haven't heard any rumors about why he was being overlooked (drugs, injury, etc.) There has to be something no one is talking about, but I don't know what it is. He has never been suspended or kicked off the team and the coach raves about him. Strange story.
