HOF Picks

Before the HOF announcement this afternoon, here is my take, based strictly on what I've seen in my life and read in various columns, etc. I have not done a John Carter-like research into all the stats of each player.

Smith - obvious
Rice - obvious
Dick LeBeau - on player credentials only, not coaching, I think he belongs
Coryell - based on impact, yes barely
Tim Brown -he was better than Reed, better than Carter, a game-changer
Charles Haley - dominant on 5 super bowl teams

Cris Carter - no
Roger Craig - hell no
Dermontti Dawson - maybe later
Richard Dent - no
Russ Grimm - no
Rickey Jackson - no
Cortez Kennedy - no
John Randle - possibly
Andre Reed - no
Shannon Sharpe - hell no
Floyd Little - no

Like Peter King I don't believe in the "Hall of Very Good".

Great Picks.
I was a little caught off guard with your Haley pick. I understand that he was dominant, but a bit of a part time player at some points of his career. It is simple for me, was he as good as Harvey Martin...no.

I am not sold on LeBeau credentials as some, but I do not remember the greatness.

Thank you for the No on Carter. He was not the best on his on teams for many years.

Randle, Grimm, Randle and Sharpe probably deserve some consideration.

I love Coryell's brain, Hall of fame...don't know.
